Workshops
The exercise of working with hands adds to the self confidence of Special People and is also a therapeutic technique for enhancing their creative capabilities. The students in Roshni find a suitable task in one of four different workshops.
Wood Workshop
In the wood workshop wooden toys, frames, trays and other accessories are made by special people. Everyone has his own specific task, depending on each individual's aptitude. The products are exhibited at different Expos which earn respect and encourage them to do more in the future.
Organic Bakery
The bakery is one of the workshops for special people. It offers various types of whole grain bread and pastries made with organic ingredients. The whole process of baking starting from milling the grain into flour to freshly baked bread is done completely with the students' involvement. This experience is an important part of their overall learning process. These bakery items are sold in different outlets of Lahore.
Textile Workshop
In the harmonious atmosphere of the the textile workshop, the students produce various items according to traditional methods. This gives them a straighforward way to see the benefits of their abilities while allowing them to be creative. In the textile workshop they are given the opportunity to explore stitching, embroidery, tiedye and weaving as well as beading. The results range from stuffed animals and embroidered bags to scarfs and pillowcases.
Roshni Garden
Working in the Roshni gardens and fields offers a physical outlet for the students, and because of the cycle of seasons they are given a sense of nature's rhythm. The harvest of rice and wheat is particularly celebrated year after year.
